1. Who is "the Man" Walter is talking about? What does he mean literally, and figuratively?

2. Describe Walter's tone in the beginning of this scene. How is he acting?

3. Describe the differences between Beneatha and Mama's reactions to Walter's "episode".

4. What do you think the importance is of Mama demanding that Travis witness Walter and Lindner's final confrontation?

5. What decision does Walter ultimately make? Why does he do this?

6. In the end, things are looking up for Mama's children. What does Beneatha want to do? Explain Mama's comment of Walter being "like a Rainbow".
